Dr Claudio Raimondi is a Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London's William Harvey Research Institute, part of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. His research focuses on vascular biology and cancer, particularly the role of Neuropilin-1 in endothelial cell function and vascular diseases. He holds prestigious BHF fellowships and has held academic roles at UCL and Imperial College London before joining Queen Mary in 2019.
Education & Career: PhD in Cancer Biology (Queen Mary, 2000s), Postdoc at UCL (2011–2016), and Imperial College London (2016–2019). Appointed Lecturer at Queen Mary in 2019 and promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2024.
Research Interests: Investigates endothelial homeostasis, metabolic pathways in vascular health, and anti-inflammatory mechanisms. Current projects include ATP binding cassette B8’s role in endothelial metabolism and Neuropilin-1’s stabilization of adherens junctions under flow conditions (e.g., atherosclerosis prevention).
