Claudio Minca is a Full Professor at the Department of History Cultures Civilizations, University of Bologna. His academic career spans institutions including the universities of Trieste, Venice, Newcastle (UK), Royal Holloway (London), Wageningen (Netherlands), and Macquarie (Australia). He served as Head of Department at both Wageningen and Macquarie universities. His research focuses on spatial theory, biopolitics, modernity, and critical engagements with philosopher Giorgio Agamben. Currently leads the ERC Advanced Grant project TheGAME, investigating refugee mobilities along the Balkan Route through counter-mapping techniques.
Key publications include A Spatial Theory of the Camp (2025), Camps Revisited (2019), and Hitler's Geographies (2016). His work bridges cultural geography with political theory, addressing themes of power, space, and contemporary geopolitical challenges. Awards include prestigious European Research Council funding for innovative research methodologies.
