Claudio Comoglio is a Full Professor at the Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering (DIATI) at the Polytechnic University of Turin. He serves as Deputy Coordinator of the College of Environmental and Territorial Engineering and leads research in ecohydraulics, river ecology, and environmental management systems. His work focuses on fish passage, hydrological modeling, and sustainable design, with a particular emphasis on biodiversity conservation and climate action.
Research Interests
- Ecohydraulics: Integrates fluid mechanics with aquatic ecosystem conservation.
- River Ecology: Studies habitat use and species interactions in fluvial environments.
- Environmental Management Systems: Develops frameworks for corporate sustainability and regulatory compliance.
- Hydrology: Analyzes water and soil pollution, ecological flows, and drought impacts.
- Sustainable Design: Promotes eco-design principles in engineering solutions.
Recent Publications highlight interdisciplinary trends across environmental science, hydrology, and behavioral biology. His team investigates fish swimming mechanics, upstream passage solutions, and drought-induced river dynamics. Projects like LIFE Minnow and LIFE GrayMarble address conservation challenges for endangered species in alpine tributaries.
Editorial Activities include associate editor roles at the Journal of Ecohydraulics (2021–present) and editorial board membership at Frontiers in Environmental Science (2022–present). He mentors PhD students in civil and environmental engineering, focusing on topics like environmental sustainability, fish behavior, and hydraulic modeling.
