Claudia von Bastian

Professor Claudia von Bastian is a cognitive psychologist and head of the Cognitive Ability & Plasticity Lab at the University of Sheffield's School of Psychology. Her research focuses on cognitive individual differences, experience-based plasticity, and bridging experimental and differential psychology approaches. She holds a PhD and MSc from the University of Zurich (summa cum laude) and has held roles at the University of Colorado Boulder and Bournemouth University. Her work emphasizes open science practices, including pre-registration and data sharing, and she co-leads the UK Reproducibility Network. She is actively involved in large-scale collaborations like the Psychological Science Accelerator and #EEGManyLabs studies.
