Claudia Stein is an Associate Professor in the History Department at the University of Warwick, specializing in the history of medicine, science, and biopolitics. She has held prestigious positions including Wellcome Trust Lecturer (2003-2008) and Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellow (2001-2002). Her research spans early modern Europe to the 20th century, focusing on biopower, visual culture, and disease narratives.

Recent publications examine health posters, hygiene exhibitions, and the intersection of capitalism with biomedical practices. She teaches modules on human nature, knowledge and power, medical history in the Enlightenment, and historiography.
