Prof. Dr. Claudia Polzin-Haumann is the Chair of Romance Linguistics at Saarland University, leading research in applied linguistics, multilingualism, and intercultural communication. Her work focuses on language policy, discourse analysis, and border studies in French, Spanish, and minority languages. She co-edits the Journal of Romance Philology and Manual of Applied Romance Linguistics, and directs the Office for Academic Francophonie in Germany. She organizes major events like the XL Romanistisches Kolloquium and collaborates with institutions in France and Luxembourg. Her research bridges theory and practice through projects on early language learning and cross-border education.
Education and Affiliations: Chair of Romance Linguistics, Saarland University; member of UniGR Center for Border Studies and GRETI. Coordinates Catalan editing and teaches in BA/Master programs.
