Claudia Decorse is an Associate Professor in the Department of SP2M at the Institut de Chimie Moléculaire et des Matériaux d'Orsay (ICMMO), Université Paris-Saclay. She holds a PhD in Materials Chemistry from Université Paris Sud (2006), supervised by Prof. Patrick Berthet. Her research focuses on magnetic materials, particularly frustrated pyrochlore systems (e.g., Tb2Ti2O7), high-temperature superconductivity, and crystal growth via floating zone techniques. She has collaborated with institutions like CEA Saclay and the University of Warwick.
Her teaching activities include courses in General Chemistry, Thermodynamics, and Solid-State Chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She co-created the educational comic 'Spin Ice: The Experiment' to popularize physics for students and the public.
Key research themes: magnetic ordering in oxides, entropy-stabilized alloys, spin ice physics, and material synthesis. Over 30 peer-reviewed publications since 2005, with recent work on magnetoelastic effects and quantum spin ice candidates.
