Jean-Noel Rebilly

Jean-Noël Rebilly is a CNRS Researcher at the Institut de Chimie Moléculaire et des Matériaux d'Orsay (ICMMO), University of Paris-Saclay. He holds a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Université Paris-Sud (2005) and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Liverpool (2005–2008). His academic career includes positions at Université Paris Descartes (2008–2016) and his current role since 2016 at the ICMMO.

His work emphasizes mimicking enzymatic systems to achieve selective oxidations under environmentally benign conditions.

Recent Trends in Publications: Studies highlight the role of second-sphere proton donors (e.g., phenol groups) and hydrogen bonds in directing O₂/H₂O₂ activation pathways. Electro-assisted systems and tandem catalyst design are emerging directions, alongside materials integration (e.g., mesoporous silica-embedded iron ions).

Advising & Collaborations: Works with teams led by Frédéric Banse and international collaborators. Active in mentoring postdocs and PhD students through multidisciplinary projects at the ICMMO.
