Claudia C. Cogliser is the Benninger Family Professor of Management and Area Coordinator in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. She holds a Ph.D. and B.B.A. in Management from the University of Miami. Her research focuses on leadership, diversity/inclusion, and research methods, with over 40 publications and 9,000+ citations. She has served in roles like Associate Dean of Student Affairs (2014–2017) and Area Coordinator (2019–2022). Cogliser has received numerous awards, including Fellow of the Southern Management Association and the Decennial Award from The Leadership Quarterly.
Her scholarly work emphasizes authentic leadership, leader-member exchange (LMX), and virtual team dynamics. Notable contributions include studies on the imposter phenomenon at work and barriers to authentic leader-follower relationships. Cogliser is affiliated with the Institute for Leadership Research and Women’s & Gender Studies. She has led over 15 doctoral dissertation committees and contributed to service-learning initiatives across Lubbock’s community organizations.
Her research has been published in top journals like the Journal of Management and The Leadership Quarterly. She has secured grants totaling over $560k, including funding from Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Cogliser’s teaching spans leadership, organizational behavior, and negotiation at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels.
