Claudia Cavallaro is a Fixed-term Assistant Professor (RTDA) in Computer Science [INFO-01/A] at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (DMI) of the University of Catania since January 1, 2022. She works on the REACT-EU-funded project under scientific supervision of Professor Vincenzo Cutello and is an active member of the Complex Intelligent Systems Research Group.
Her research focuses on computational approaches to large-scale data analysis, particularly through multi-agent techniques applied to trajectory datasets. Her work bridges theoretical computer science with practical applications in mobility analytics and complex system modeling.
Current research directions emphasize GPS trajectory analysis using agent-based simulation frameworks. Her methodological expertise includes distributed computing techniques for processing massive spatiotemporal datasets, with implications for urban planning and transportation systems.
She contributes to academic training through teaching across multiple degree programs at the University of Catania and previously served as Adjunct Professor at the University of Turin. Her REACT-EU project involvement represents significant research funding in computational intelligence.
Professional development includes international research stays at the University of Bologna (Department of Computer Science and Engineering) and University of Barcelona (Department of Mathematics and Computer Science), demonstrating strong European research network integration.
