Claudia Brandenburg is a Part-Time Assistant Professor at the Parsons School of Design, part of The New School, where she has been teaching since 2002. She also serves as an adjunct professor at NYU Steinhardt School of Art and Art Professions since 2015. Her expertise lies in editorial design, graphic design, publication design, and typography. Brandenburg founded Language Arts, a New York-based graphic design studio specializing in books, systems, and identities since 2001.
Education: Graduate of Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Professional experience includes roles at Bureau NY, The New York Times Magazine, and Architecture magazine. Clients span academia, architecture, arts, policy, and publishing, including the American Federation of Arts, Columbia University, and the Andy Warhol Foundation.
Recent teaching includes the course CD Studio: Multiple Editions (PSAM 2070) in Fall 2025 and Spring 2025. Her work emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovative design solutions.
