Claude MARTIN

Claude Martin is a Research Professor at CNRS and holds the Childhood, Well-being and Parenthood Chair at EHESP School of Public Health. He leads the UMR 6051 ARENES research unit and has directed interdisciplinary teams such as the Interdisciplinary Center for Research on Long-Term Care (SoLo). Affiliated with multiple institutions including Science Po Rennes and Université de Rennes, he focuses on social care policies, family dynamics, and vulnerability among elderly populations.

Research Interests: Combines sociological analysis of family structures with evaluation of social policies. Specializes in care policies (both formal and informal), long-term care systems, childhood support programs, and the interplay between work-life balance and caregiving responsibilities. Recent work examines mental health challenges during transitions to adulthood and EU-level social risk governance.
