Clarissa Beyah serves as a Professor of Professional Practice of Journalism at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California, while concurrently holding the position of Chief Communications Officer for Union Pacific Railroad. She is also the founder and president of Writer’s Block Ink, Incorporated, a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating diverse young leaders through arts-based social change initiatives.
Her academic credentials include a BA in English from Rowan University and an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of New Haven, providing the foundation for her expertise in narrative-driven communications and strategic leadership across global sectors.
Beyah's professional focus spans strategic communications, crisis management, and nonprofit leadership development, informed by senior roles at Fortune 50 companies including Aon (Vice President, Global Communications), GE Transportation (Chief Communications Officer), and Pfizer (Head of Communications for Europe). Her teaching and nonprofit work emphasize using creative arts as tools for youth empowerment and community impact.
She actively contributes to professional organizations including the Arthur Page Society and Leadership Greater Washington, advancing communications excellence and leadership development frameworks across public and private sectors.
