Clare M Fodey is a Part-Time Lecturer in Theology and Religious Education at the University of Glasgow's School of Education. She coordinates the Theology/Philosophy/CTF strand on the MEDUC programme and leads courses in Theology, Religious Education, and the Certificate in Religious Education by Distance Learning (CREDL). Her roles include Deputy Chief Advisor for the School of Education, Advisor of Studies, and Course Leader for the Widening Participation Summer School.
Educationally, she holds a Bachelor of Divinity (Hons) from the University of Glasgow (1995), a PGDE (Primary) (2001), and a Master’s in Catholic Pastoral and Education Studies from the Maryvale Institute (2015). She is currently pursuing a PhD on music in the liturgy and children with communication needs.
Research focuses on integrating music in Catholic liturgy for children with communication needs, sacramental education, and music in primary education. Her career spans nursing, midwifery, international healthcare coordination in Sierra Leone, and part-time primary teaching in Glasgow (2001–2018).
Clare supervises Masters dissertations and BEd Enquiry Research, and teaches at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is registered with the General Teaching Council of Scotland.
