Clara Kraft Isono is a Lecturer in Architecture at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design (GSD), combining academic roles with creative practice. She previously held a Senior Lecturer position in the School of Architecture at the Royal College of Art, leading the interdisciplinary film and architecture design studio ADS6. Her work bridges architecture and film, focusing on feminist spatial practices and critical storytelling about design and construction. She founded Kraft Isono, a studio producing films and immersive experiences.
Education includes a Film by Practice PhD from the University of Exeter, a Masters in Filmmaking from the London Film School, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture from the Architectural Association. Her films explore spatial ideas and have screened globally at venues like Raindance Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival, and institutions such as The Royal Academy of Arts.
Current projects include VR experiences of Tropical Modernist landscapes and documentaries on architects Geoffrey Bawa, Jørn Utzon, and Zaha Hadid's early life. Her research emphasizes architecture's intersection with film, reflecting her dual practice as an architect and filmmaker.
