Clara Dallaire Fortier is a researcher at Lund University, affiliated with the Department of Economic History and the Sustainability transformations over time and space research group. Her work examines ecological transitions and historical systemic changes through the lens of mine closures in Canada, focusing on how local population needs can inform industrial changes and Just Transition frameworks.
Research Interests: Her doctoral studies bridge Economic History, Sustainability, and Political Economy. She investigates the socio-economic impacts of deindustrialization, mining industry dynamics, and labor market ripple effects, with a geographic focus on Canada. Her approach integrates historical analysis with contemporary policy development to address systemic industrial and environmental challenges.
