Claire White is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University. Her research focuses on developing sustainable cement materials, CO₂ capture technologies, and low-emission construction materials. She leads the Sustainable Cements Group (SCG), which integrates experimental and computational methods to study material behavior across scales. Her work emphasizes reducing CO₂ emissions through innovative cements and advanced synchrotron/neutron-based techniques.
Research interests include chemical mechanisms of cement degradation, advanced material characterization, and environmental impact mitigation. She is affiliated with the Carbon Mitigation Initiative and the Grand Challenges Program, addressing global climate challenges.
Key media coverage highlights her contributions to low-carbon cement solutions and carbon capture innovations, featured in Scientific American and Princeton University publications.
Her group collaborates on interdisciplinary projects, including nanoparticle drug delivery systems and thermal energy storage ceramics. Funding and grants support her work on sustainable infrastructure and material durability.
