Claire Reising is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of French and Francophone Studies at the University of Notre Dame. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. from New York University and a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Notre Dame.

Her research focuses on 20th/21st century Francophone literature, second-language acquisition, migrant literature, and visual culture. She explores how migration shapes cultural identity through literature, theater, and visual arts. Her work challenges traditional notions of national identity in diasporic contexts.
Her recent publications analyze diasporic creation in works by Dany Laferrière and Wajdi Mouawad, emphasizing transnational cultural expressions. The articles highlight intersections between visual arts and literary narratives in migrant experiences.
- Awards: 2021 Fulbright Grant for research on diasporic writers in Montreal.
As a pedagogue, she designs innovative language courses integrating literature and film. She leads undergraduate programs and mentors students in Francophone studies.
