Education:
- PhD in Environmental Education (University of Stirling, 2023), focusing on secondary school pupils’ experiences in environmental citizen science.
Research Interests:
Claire’s research explores eco-citizenship development through more-than-human encounters, citizen science projects, and the role of ‘place’ and ‘story’ in environmental education. She investigates outdoor learning provision in formal schools, pedagogical approaches to sustainability, and the intersection of education policy with environmental justice. Her work employs qualitative, multi-method case studies to analyze the socio-ecological dimensions of learning.
Publications Trends:
Her sole listed article (2023) highlights her focus on transformative climate education, emphasizing non-traditional school staff roles (e.g., caretakers) in fostering environmental awareness through participatory methods. This reflects her broader interest in reimagining educational spaces and actors to advance sustainability goals.
