Claire R. Ford

Claire R. Ford is a Lecturer and Researcher in Adult Nursing at the University of Manchester's Nursing & Midwifery department. She is also a Registered Adult Nurse with clinical experience at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and currently holds an Honorary Contract as Digital NMAHP Researcher at the same institution.

Her educational background includes a PhD in Virtual Reality applications for falls prevention in care homes (awarded May 2023), a Bachelor of Nursing (awarded December 2018), and a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Musicianship. Her research focuses on digital health interventions, particularly in falls prevention, electronic patient records, and mHealth applications for long-term condition management.

Dr. Ford's work shows a clear trajectory in digital health research, with recent publications emphasizing mobile health app evaluation, VR training for care homes, and technology adoption in elderly care settings.
