Claire Morrisby is a Senior Lecturer at Curtin University's School of Allied Health, specializing in occupational therapy with focus on dementia care and innovative educational methods. Her research examines care models for people with dementia and develops virtual learning approaches for health professionals.
Dr. Morrisby's work includes investigations of community-based dementia care needs, factors influencing transitions to residential care, and intergenerational program effectiveness. Her educational research develops virtual reality applications for clinical training and examines peer-led virtual learning models for dementia communication skills. She has created digital storytelling interventions to improve attitudes toward older adults.
Her teaching innovations have earned multiple awards including the Curtin University Excellence in Teaching Award. Current projects investigate music-based intergenerational programs and occupational therapy approaches to reduce inpatient falls.
