معرفی
Dr. Claire Masteller is an Assistant Professor in Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, with affiliations to the McDonnell Center for the Space Sciences. Her research investigates sediment transport mechanics, landscape evolution, and coastal erosion processes across planetary surfaces.
Research Focus: Examines bedrock erosion mechanics, flood impacts on river systems, coastal change quantification, and urban flooding dynamics. Recent work includes machine-learning flood monitoring in Cahokia Heights and Arctic shoreline change analysis.
Professional Recognition: Recipient of Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (2017-2019). Leads the WUSTL Geomorphology Lab seeking graduate students for projects on gravel river dynamics, bedrock incision, and coastal evolution.
Publications: Covers diverse geomorphology topics including sediment transport modeling, river channel response to floods, coastal cliff retreat, bedrock erosion mechanics, and innovative monitoring techniques. Research consistently integrates field measurements, laboratory experiments, and computational modeling.
