Claire Marie Lim is an Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music, affiliated with the Songwriting and Production school and Electronic Production and Design department. She is also an adjunct faculty member at the City University of New York. Her work bridges electronic music technology, live performance design, and music education advocacy, particularly for women and Asian representation in the field.
Lim holds certifications as an Ableton Certified Trainer, Bitwig Certified Trainer, and Apple Certified Pro. She has collaborated with Grammy-winning artists like Nona Hendryx (Labelle) and Lizzo, and performed at venues such as Madison Square Garden and Marina Bay Sands. Her career spans roles as a producer, audio engineer, and live performance designer, leveraging tools like Ableton Live and Max/MSP/Jitter.
Her research interests focus on gestural control in live electronics, music technology education for diverse demographics, and interdisciplinary artistry. Lim’s projects include Colors of Us, an album and live performance series empowering Asian female-identifying youth, and Own Devices, an exploration of motion-controlled electronic music performance.
