Claire L. Adida is a Professor of Political Science at the University of California San Diego, serving as Director of Graduate Studies in the Political Science Department. She is affiliated with the Policy Design and Evaluation Lab (PDEL), the Center for Comparative Immigration Studies (CCIS), the Stanford Immigration Policy Lab, and the Evidence in Governance and Politics Group (EGAP). Her research focuses on comparative ethnic politics, identity, immigration, and inter-group cooperation/conflict, with recent projects exploring immigrant integration, refugee inclusion, and economic strategies for vulnerable communities in Africa and the U.S.

Her work employs quantitative methods to analyze diversity management in countries like France, the U.S., and West Africa. Research highlights include studying voter accountability in West Africa, Somali immigrant integration, and leveraging mobile money systems for African remittance improvements. Her findings have been published in journals such as Comparative Political Studies, the Quarterly Journal of Political Science, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Funding support comes from the National Science Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Hellman Foundation, and EGAP. Current projects investigate strategies to reduce out-group discrimination and navigational tactics of marginalized minorities in discriminatory environments.
She directs the UCSD-HBCU Summer Research Program and maintains an active role in policy-oriented academic networks through her lab affiliations.
