Professor Claire Jackson is a Professor in General Practice and Primary Care Reform Research at The University of Queensland, affiliated with the Centre for Community Health and Wellbeing and the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, a Master of Public Health, and additional postgraduate qualifications from leading Australian institutions.
Her research focuses on primary care reform, integrated healthcare models, telehealth, chronic disease management (particularly diabetes), and healthcare governance. Recent projects include evaluating eConsultant models, optimizing medication handover post-discharge, and supporting rural general practice through virtual integration.
Dr. Jackson has secured significant funding, including NHMRC grants for diabetes screening and integrated care models. She has advised on over 150 research projects and supervised four PhD students in areas like electronic health records and health governance frameworks.
Her work emphasizes co-creation with policymakers and clinicians to bridge research-practice gaps. Notable contributions include protocol development for diabetes care models and cost analyses of telehealth versus traditional outpatient services.
