Dr. Claire Hart is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Southampton. She holds a BSc and PhD in Psychology from the University of Southampton (2000 and 2005, respectively). Her career includes roles as a Research Fellow (2005-2009), Lecturer at Southampton Solent University (2009-2010), and Lecturer/Associate Professor at the University of Southampton from 2010 to present.
Her research focuses on quantitative social and personality psychology, particularly narcissistic dysfunction and its impact on interpersonal relationships. Key interests include narcissism and empathy, gendered narcissism, and bullying behavior. She is affiliated with the Centre for Research on Self and Identity.
Recent publications explore topics such as gender bias in narcissism assessment, the development of psychological assessment tools (e.g., SEAAS), and the role of phubbing in romantic relationships.
