Claire Hannibal is a Professor of Operations Management and Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange at Robert Gordon University. Her research focuses on process improvement, sustainable supply chains, and humanitarian logistics. She has held faculty positions at several UK universities and previously worked in Ethiopia with VSO. Claire has been awarded the Professor Ian Beardwell Prize (2022) and the David Lepak Award (2022), and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Education includes a PhD in Management Science (University of Manchester), MPhil in Management Science (University of Manchester), MSc in Design and Manufacture (Manchester Metropolitan University), and BEng (Hons) in Manufacturing Management (University of Salford). She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.
Her research explores topics such as triple bottom line sustainability, textile supply chains, and information sharing to mitigate supply chain risks. Key projects include the EU-funded ConsenCUS initiative on CO2 capture and storage, and studies on co-production in the voluntary sector. She supervises PhD students in areas like sustainable project management and humanitarian logistics.
Claire's recent work emphasizes AI-driven supply chain resilience, humanitarian logistics complexity, and circular economy practices. Her articles span journals like Supply Chain Management, International Journal of Production Economics, and Sustainability.
Professional recognitions include membership in the British Academy of Management and leadership roles in academic governance. She actively contributes to advancing sustainable operations and public sector service delivery through collaborative research and innovation.
