Her research program investigates how accounting and accountability systems operate across diverse institutional contexts using qualitative methodologies. She examines management control mechanisms in state-owned enterprises and NGOs while pioneering work on biodiversity protection and accountability to non-human entities. This scholarship integrates philosophical, sociological, and anthropological frameworks to address sustainability challenges through material semiotics and ethnographic approaches.
Recent publications reveal consistent thematic focus on qualitative methodologies applied to public sector accountability, corporate governance in emerging markets, and the epistemological foundations of accounting research. Her work demonstrates methodological innovation through cross-disciplinary borrowing from literary theory and anthropology.
