Current projects include studying Indian and Chinese English speakers' phonological convergence with Western varieties and their media influences.
Her teaching includes 'Global Englishes' at honours level and 'English in Time and Space' at pre-honours. She supervises PhD students researching Asian Englishes and related sociolinguistic topics. Recent grants include a Carnegie Incentive Grant (2017) for recording experiments with Indian students and a CAHSS Global Fellowship (2018) supporting further interviews.
- Research Highlights: Call centre communication dynamics, accent attitudes in India, and sociolinguistic fieldwork in urban India.
- Grants & Awards: Carnegie Incentive Grant, CAHSS Global Fellowship.
Her work integrates experimental methods with qualitative interviews, contributing to Edinburgh Global's understanding of student demographics and experiences. Current projects anticipate expanding into South/Southeast Asian linguistic research and participatory feedback mechanisms.
