Civilai Leckie is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Swinburne University of Technology's School of Business, Law and Entrepreneurship. She holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Melbourne, an MBA from Case Western Reserve University (USA), and a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from Thammasat University (Thailand). Her research focuses on customer brand engagement, consumer behavior, business-to-business relations, and CSR partnerships, with a particular emphasis on survey design, quantitative research, and data analysis.
Leckie is a leading scholar in customer (brand) engagement, contributing to the Handbook of Research on Customer Engagement. She has published extensively in top-tier journals like the European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Marketing Management. Her work often addresses topics such as social partnerships, green branding, and co-creation in digital platforms. She currently serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Consumer Behaviour and received the Reviewer of the Year Award (2020) from that journal.
Leckie’s research has been recognized with best paper awards, including at the American Marketing Association Conference. She collaborates with the Customer Experience Research Group and actively supervises doctoral candidates exploring topics like AI in retailing, cocreation in tourism, and green brand loyalty. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges marketing theory with practical applications in CSR, sports management, and digital ecosystems.
