Citlali Arroyo

Citlali Arroyo is a Research Fellow at Erikson Institute focusing on anti-racism in early math education and a third-year kindergarten dual language teacher in Chicago Public Schools (CPS). She holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master of Early Childhood Education from Boston College (graduated cum laude, 2020) and is a 2016 alumna of Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU). Previously, she worked in a Chicago aldermanic office, taught in Boston Public Schools, and served as a professional writing tutor for Oakton College and the NEIU Center for Academic Writing.

Research Interests: Her work spans sociolinguistics in dual-language contexts, culturally responsive teaching methods, urban education reform, teacher training frameworks, and equitable approaches to early childhood mathematics. She actively integrates anti-racist principles into pedagogical research and classroom practice.

Community Engagement: She organizes demonstrations for victims of police brutality, coordinates community grocery distributions, and volunteers with Chicago Books to Women in Prison. Personal interests include speculative fiction, video games, and painting.
