Cindy Forgie

Cindy Forgie is an academic and former federal employee with over three decades of experience. She currently holds the rank of Assistant Professor (Term) in Information Systems, Analytics & Operations at the University of Louisville’s Driehaus College of Business. Previously, she served as an Adjunct Professor in Operations Management (2018–2023) and held roles as Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Indiana and Kansas State University. Her career includes 13 years as an Operations Research Systems Analyst for the U.S. Army Futures Command, focusing on military technology R&D, and five years as an industrial engineer with the U.S. Navy.

Education: PhD in Industrial Engineering (University of Louisville, 2008), MS in Software Engineering (Kansas State University, 2003), MS in Engineering Management (University of Louisville, 1996), BS in Industrial Engineering (University of Louisville, 1984). Additional credentials include Army Management Staff College and Public Management certification (Indiana-Purdue University).

Research & Teaching: Expertise spans operations research, military systems analysis, and engineering education. Her work emphasizes efficiency optimization, organizational process design, and live/virtual experimentation for defense technology. She has taught courses in operations management, industrial engineering, and computing sciences.
