Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cihan Taylan AKDAĞ holds a Researcher position at Technische Universität Berlin's Department of Geotechnical Engineering, specializing in offshore wind energy foundations and geotechnical modeling. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor at Türkisch-Deutsche Universität (TDU) and held academic roles at Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi (DEÜ). His research focuses on Offshore Geotechnics, FE modeling, and structural-soil interaction for renewable energy systems.
Education:
- Bachelor (1993-2000): Civil Engineering, DEÜ
- Master (2000-2004): Civil Engineering, DEÜ
- PhD (2004-2011): Geotechnical Engineering, DEÜ
- Habilitation (2018): TU Berlin
Research Interests: His work explores advanced geotechnical solutions for offshore wind turbines, including pile design, jacket foundation dynamics, and material innovations. He employs finite element modeling and experimental techniques to analyze soil-structure interactions under extreme loads.
Grants & Projects: Collaborated on TÜBİTAK-funded projects at IMST and TU Berlin, focusing on coastal engineering and offshore wind energy. Supervised Master's theses at TU Berlin, LUH, and BTU Cottbus. Coordinated TDU's Civil Engineering program development.
Labs & Teams: Active in TU Berlin's Geotechnical Engineering group, contributing to interdisciplinary projects on renewable energy infrastructure resilience.
