Ciaran Gillespie is a Lecturer in International Politics and Director of Employability at the University of Surrey. He holds a PhD, MSc, and BA (Hons) in relevant fields. His research focuses on indirect international intervention through military assistance programs and VR technology's global political implications. Gillespie examines US foreign policy impacts on Pakistan and explores VR's role in reshaping social relations through immersive experiences in conflict zones like Israel/Palestine and Northern Ireland.

His work bridges political economy and technology studies, analyzing how VR applications in education and advocacy influence empathy and objectivity.
