Ciara Shiggins is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Queensland's School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Her work focuses on advancing inclusive healthcare practices for individuals with communication disabilities, particularly post-stroke aphasia. She has contributed to improving research methodologies to better include marginalized populations such as those with aphasia or capacity-affecting conditions.
Her research interests span aphasia rehabilitation, health equity, patient-centered care, and the ethical inclusion of disabled individuals in medical research.
