Dr. Chwan-Li (Leslie) Shen is Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Pathology at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine. She also holds titles as Clinical Professor of Laboratory Sciences and Primary Care at the TTUHSC School of Health Professions and Adjunct Professor of Nutritional Sciences at Texas Tech University (TTU). As Founding Director of the TTUHSC Center of Excellence for Integrative Health, she bridges translational research with clinical applications.

- Translational research from animal studies to human clinical trials
Her work focuses on nutrition, exercise, and chronic disease management, particularly in obesity, diabetes, musculoskeletal health, and pain. Recent projects explore microbiome-gut-brain axis mechanisms in pain management.
She has delivered 130+ national and international presentations and authored over 140 peer-reviewed publications. Her research integrates bioactive compounds like green tea and ginger with functional food approaches to chronic diseases.
