Chunhua Wu is an Associate Professor and Division Chair of Marketing and Behavioural Science at the UBC Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia. She holds the Finning Junior Professorship in Marketing. Her research focuses on quantifying the economic impacts of technology in areas like online advertising, mobile platforms, and consumer behavior. Wu earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.S. in Statistics from Fudan University.
Her research portfolio includes groundbreaking studies on mobile hailing technology's effect on taxi drivers, the value of online reviews, and pricing strategies in diamond retail. She has published extensively in top-tier journals such as Marketing Science and International Journal of Research in Marketing.
Wu teaches courses on data visualization, business analytics, and market research across undergraduate, MBA, and PhD programs. She was honored with the UBC Killam Teaching Prize (2020-2021) and the Olin Award (2012).
Her current research explores healthcare platform design, administrative trade barriers in media, and the sharing economy. She advises on technology-driven market mechanisms and consumer decision-making processes.
