Dr. Chuck Ruot is a Professor of Kinesiology and Director of the Human Performance Lab at Henderson State University (HSU). He serves as Program Director for HSU’s Exercise Science program, with expertise in Strength & Conditioning recognized by the NSCA (CSCS,*D certification). His academic journey includes a B.S. in Physical Education from Illinois State University (1986), M.S. in Physical Education/Adult Fitness from Eastern Illinois University (1987), and an Ed.D. in Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of Kentucky (2004).
Dr. Ruot’s research focuses on optimizing health and human performance through exercise testing and training, sport performance, and pedagogical strategies in exercise and sport science. He is an active member of professional organizations including ACSM, NSCA, CSCCa, and TAHPERD, and serves on the Written Examination Committee of the CSCCa. His teaching spans undergraduate and graduate levels in Sport and Exercise Sciences.
Recognized nationally in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, Dr. Ruot’s career encompasses teaching, research, administrative leadership, coaching, and strength & conditioning roles. He oversees the Human Performance Lab, integrating applied research with practical training for student success.
