Chuang Xu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, joining in 2022. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta (2018), advised by Arno Berger. His research focuses on the Mathematics of network science and chemical reaction network theory, with interests spanning applied mathematics, stochastic processes, and nonlinear dynamics. He is affiliated with the university’s Mathematics department and contributes to research areas including algebra, analysis, and topology.
His research interests emphasize rigorous mathematical analysis of network structures and stochastic systems, particularly in understanding dynamics of adaptive networks, Markov chains, and reaction networks. He explores continuum limits, mean-field approximations, and classification of dynamical behaviors in these systems. His work bridges theoretical mathematics with applications in biomathematics and statistical physics.
Notable publications include studies on Vlasov equations on hypergraph measures, classification of Markov chain dynamics, and threshold analysis of stochastic reaction networks. His email addresses are chuangxu@math.hawaii.edu and chuangxu@hawaii.edu, with an office in Keller 306.
