Dr. Chrys Egan is a Professor of Communication and Associate Dean of the Fulton School of Liberal Arts at Salisbury University. She holds a PhD in Communication from Florida State University (1998), an MA in Communication from UNC-Greensboro (1994), and a BA in English from UNC-Charlotte (1992). Her research focuses on communication, leadership, and cultural dynamics, with notable work on global women leaders and gender in political contexts.
- Leadership Roles: Chair-Elect of the International Leadership Association’s Public Leadership Community; Past-President of the Popular Culture Association in the South and Maryland Communication Association.
- Publications: Authored/co-edited over 40 academic works, including the book Pathways into the Political Arena: The Perspectives of Global Women Leaders and a Merits journal special issue on “Changing Realities for Women and Work.”
Dr. Egan has been honored with prestigious awards such as the Maryland Top 100 Women (twice), Distinguished Faculty of the Year (2018), and Excellence in Mentoring. Her service includes roles in leadership development initiatives and community engagement.
