Christy L. Oxendine (Lumbee) is an Assistant Professor at the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education, University of Oklahoma. She specializes in decolonial education history, focusing on Indigenous ways of knowing and the impact of settler colonization on public schooling. Her current research examines the racialization of the Lumbee people in Robeson County, North Carolina, and the historical development of the tri-racial state and county school systems (1885–1940).
