Christy E Briles is an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Denver in the Department of Geography & Environmental Sciences. Her research focuses on long-term ecosystem dynamics, fire ecology, and climate change impacts across diverse regions including the western U.S., Vietnam, and California.
- PhD and MS in Geography from University of Oregon
- BS in Environmental Science from University of Denver
Research interests include:
- Paleoecology and biogeography of mountain systems
- Fire history analysis using charcoal and pollen proxies
- Anthropogenic impacts on natural ecosystems
- Urban bee ecology and heavy metal contamination
- Marine and terrestrial ecosystem interactions
Her lab (PPCC Lab) investigates:
- Wetland carbon sequestration
- Shallow marine paleoecology in Ha Long Bay
- Forest biodiversity in Colorado and California
- Urban bee resources and pollution in Denver
