Dr. Christos Vrakopoulos is a Lecturer in Politics with Quantitative Methods at the University of Edinburgh's School of Social and Political Science. His research focuses on extreme-right political support dynamics, climate change policy attitudes, and urban-rural political divides. He holds a PhD and has published in top journals like Environmental Politics and European Political Science Review.
Research Interests: Elections & public opinion, environmental governance, democracy quality, nationalism, and political behavior analysis. Current projects explore climate policy acceptance through a center-periphery framework and the normalization mechanisms of extreme-right ideologies.
Publications: Recent work examines climate change attitudes in Western Europe, extreme-right electoral success factors, and the Golden Dawn case as a vigilante movement. His research employs quantitative methods to study political behavior and institutional trust dynamics.
