He holds a BSc in Animal Production (1992), an MSc in Neurological Science (1993), and a PhD in Neuroscience (1997) from University College London. His research focuses on functional anatomy, histology, and embryology of farm animals, with emphasis on livestock health, developmental biology, and molecular mechanisms in animal physiology. He leads the Farm Animal Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory located in the Dimakopoulos Building.
Key research areas include probiotic effects on rumen microbiota, pesticide toxicity in avian species, maternal undernutrition impacts on reproductive systems, and mycobacterial infections in livestock. His work spans developmental neurobiology, immunohistochemistry in carcinomas, and zoonotic disease epidemiology.
