Christopher Williams

Associate Professor Christopher Williams is a Principal Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the School of Health Sciences and the University Centre for Rural Health. He holds an NHMRC Emerging Leader 2 Investigator Fellowship and serves as Research Development Manager for the Mid North Coast Local Health District. His academic qualifications include a BAppSc(ExSci), MPhty, and PhD.

Williams specializes in enabling Learning Health Systems through embedded clinical trials, implementation science, and research capacity building. His work focuses on integrated care for musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain, and associated risks, with over $16 million in competitive research funding.

Recent publications highlight expertise in comparative effectiveness trials (e.g., British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2025), telehealth interventions (e.g., BMC Health Services Research, 2023), and health systems integration (e.g., JAMA Network Open, 2025). Key projects include the MRFF-funded Healthy Back Program, RESOLVE-D trials, and WHO collaborations.
