Christopher White is a Professor of Theoretical Physics and serves as the SPCS Deputy Director of Education and Director of Teaching and Learning for Physics and Astronomy at Queen Mary University of London’s School of Physical and Chemical Sciences. His research focuses on Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), the double copy relationship between particle physics and gravity, and leveraging machine learning to quantify the societal impact of fundamental physics. He has led Leverhulme Trust and STFC-funded projects exploring gravitational wave applications and mathematical structures in gauge theories.
Teaching includes foundational courses like Electric and Magnetic Fields and advanced modules such as Collider Physics, applying quantum field theory to Large Hadron Collider experiments. His work bridges theoretical advancements with practical implications, including gravitational wave predictions and public science communication strategies. Notable grants include £1.4 million from STFC for Amplitudes, Strings and Duality research and £246k for societal impact analysis.
Publications span cutting-edge topics like Weyl double copies, biadjoint scalar field solutions, and non-perturbative supergravity. His lab’s collaborations include global teams at CERN and EPSRC-funded optical transformation projects. Future work emphasizes expanding the double copy framework and enhancing interdisciplinary research impact measurement.
