Christopher White

Christopher White is a Lecturer in the Health and Wellbeing Department at Wrexham University, where he has been employed since February 2021. He previously held teaching positions at the University of Chester, Manchester Metropolitan University, and Newman University. He completed his academic training at the University of Chester, earning a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, an MSc in the Sociology of Sport and Exercise, and a PhD (awarded in 2023) focused on active travel as a public health issue.

His research centers on public health interventions, mental health promotion, active transportation systems, and sociological aspects of physical activity. His work involves collaborations with the Welsh Institute of Physical Activity, Health and Sport, Flintshire Council, and Wrexham AFC, emphasizing community health initiatives and policy implementation.

Beyond academia, he has led residential Summer Schools and participates actively as a run leader in recreational running communities.
