Dr. Christopher Stanzione is a Senior Academic Professional and Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies in the School of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Georgia State University (2014). As an educator, he has received prestigious awards including the Undergraduate Educator Award (2018), Eric R. Immel Award (2018), and Geoffrey G. Eichholz Teaching Excellence Award (2024). His research focuses on cognitive and language development in at-risk and deaf/hard-of-hearing children, with additional work on trauma in autistic adults and the implementation of Open Educational Resources (OER) to reduce textbook costs. He has led curriculum initiatives such as a grant-funded OER pilot program in General Psychology, the GT-AMP internship program, and the creation of minors in Mental Health & Well-Being and Computation & Cognition.
Dr. Stanzione’s scholarly contributions span developmental psychology, deaf education, and educational technology. His recent articles address classroom technology policies, theory of mind in deaf children, and trauma experiences among autistic adults. He collaborates with colleagues like Dr. Babcock to advance inclusive educational practices and student support systems. His administrative work emphasizes expanding academic opportunities through innovative programs, including a 5-year BS/MS pathway.
