Christopher Schmidt is a full Professor and Head of the Germanistics Institute at Åbo Akademi University's Faculty of Arts, Psychology and Theology. He specializes in intercultural business communication, cognitive linguistics, and semiotics. Since 2016, he has led the Germanistics Institute and coordinates interdisciplinary programs like the Double-Degree program in intercultural advertising with KU Eichtätt-Ingolstadt. His research emphasizes cross-cultural organizational management, diversity in business communication, and text theory. Schmidt holds a PhD from Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (2010 Habilitation) and has organized major conferences such as the 2021 International Conference on Social Issues in Corporate Communication. He actively collaborates with institutions like Technische Hochschule Nürnberg and Technische Universität Dresden. His editorial work includes leading the journal Neuphilologische Mitteilungen.
