Christopher Norris

Christopher Norris is an Assistant Professor and Student Coordinator in the Art Foundation program at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts (VCUarts). He holds interim roles as Associate Program Lead and contributes to academic leadership within the department.

Education:

• MFA, Tyler School of Art at Temple University
• BFA in Sculpture, Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts)

Artistic Practice: Norris specializes in interdisciplinary visual arts, with a focus on drawing, painting, sculpture, and collaborative projects. His work engages with contemporary art practices and has been exhibited internationally in major cities including New York, Miami, Houston, and London. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Skowhegan School of Sculpture and Painting residency program (1999).

Professional Service: Norris co-chaired the steering committee for the Iridian Gallery at Diversity Richmond (2016–2019), supporting LGBTQ+-focused art initiatives and community engagement.
